Protocols

Since pain management is a mainstay of many Acupuncturists' practices, we spend a considerable amount of time researching and developing herbal solutions to manage and/or eliminate pain.

● Zhi Tong Tang (Pain Formula) – Zhi Tong Tang works internally to relieve pain from any source whether it is chronic or acute, internal or external (i.e back pain, stomach pain, bi syndrome, headache, etc.).

Zhi Tong Tang can be modified to focus on any area of the body allowing you to target your treatment.

● Da Zhi Tong Tang (Extra-Strength Pain Formula) – Da Zhi Tong Tang is works in the same way as Zhi Tong Tang but is designed for cases where the most powerful solution is required.

● Xu Duan Tang (Broken Bone Formula) – The best way to treat bone fractures quickly is to combine internal and external treatments. SJB Trauma Paste used immediately on the affected area combined with Xu Duan Tang internally dramatically increases recover and healing times by giving the body all the materias it needs to mend bone quickly.

● SJB Trauma Paste – Specifically designed to treat acute swelling, sprains, strains, and fractures, SJB Trauma Paste will rapidly speed healing while alleviating pain. Apply a small amount of the paste to the affected area and cover to insulate. The area should be kept as insulated to stimulate the warming affects. Apply twice daily (apply recommended amount to a bandage and apply bandage to affected area) for a three day initial treatment, skip one day and repeat the process until healed.

SJB Trauma Paste has been shown to be especially effective in speeding the healing of sports related traumas (i.e. ankle sprains, wrenched/twisted knees, sprained wrists, rotator cuff strains, muscle and ligament tears, etc.). Additionally, SJB Trauma Paste, when used regularly, has considerably reduced the time it takes for bone fractures to heal (at any age).

A typical treatment protocol for an acute injury would be to apply SJB Trauma Paste immediately along with either Xu Duan Tang (Broken Bone Formula), Zhi Tong Tang (Pain Formula) or Da Zhi Tong Tang (Extra-Strength Pain Formula) depending on the nature of the injury (Xu Duan Tang for fractures, Zhi Tong Tang or Da Zhi Tong Tang for everything else). Once the goal is achieved (fracture healed, swelling decreased, etc.), switch to Revive to increase flexibility and ROM (range of motion).

For chronic injuries, Revive is applied directly to the affected area. It has been extremely successful in relieving the pain caused by Bi-Syndrome, Headache, and Muscle Ache among others. Zhi Tong Tang is typically used in combination with Revive to attack the problem internally and externally.
